The College of Engineering provides email for every EGR NetID in addition to and independent of the MSU email system. Engineering email addresses are EGRNetID@egr.msu.edu. The engineering email server has a great deal of flexibility built in. This includes unlimited inbox sizes so that incoming email delivery is guaranteed against failure due to a limits placed on the size of a user's inbox. The size restriction on an individual out-bound email size is set very high at 60MB.
If you can read your current EGR email via Round Cube or Flying Squirrelmail, these instructions are applicable.
1. Launch Outlook. When the Startup Wizard opens enter your EGR email and press connect
Server information you will need:
Username: Your engineering NetID
Password: Your engineering password
Incoming mail server: mail.egr.msu.edu
Incoming security: SSL
Incoming port: 993
Outgoing mail server: mail.egr.msu.edu
Outgoing security: SSL
Outgoing port: 587
Please note that the EGR email does not work with the Outlook app on mobile.
