About

According to a study about voice disorders in teachers and the general population, about 18% of the 3 million U.S. teachers have to miss at least one day of work per year due to voice overuse. Teachers naturally raise their voice to compensate for the background noise caused by things such as students talking. Rather than increase the volume of the teacher’s voice through amplification and add to the overall noise in the classroom. We decided to create a device that will visually cue the students to quiet down, which will eliminate the need for the teacher to raise her voice.
