Project Description

Our task is to design a system that checks for pressure loss within the system. Since the breaks are automated at low pressure, any leaks can cause train cart breaks to go off. Currently, the any leaks/obstructions have to checked manually, one cart at a time. This project will ensure that the leaks can be checked sooner, thus not wasting precious time.

Proposed Solution

Currently we plan to use pressure transducers to detect pressure leaks in the air line that goes all the way down the length of the train. The information will be transmitted to a central computer system which will display the pressure information. From there, the people working at Triple Crown can determine whether they want to perform an inspection if they suspect a leak based on the displayed information.
