Our Prototypes

After working on schematics and theories of how everything should be put together, we assigned roles for each part of the project. It will be described better below.

The D6T temperature sensor was integrated with an Arduino and the output was displayed using the graphical interface Processing. The temperature sensor is used to create the danger zone and is used to detect humans through motion and temperature. This part was done by Charlie Nguyen.

A ultrasonic proximity is used to measure distance between two objects. Here, the distance is displayed on a convenient led display. In our project, this is used to detect the load of the object the crane is carrying. By knowing the distance, the temperature sensor can be turn on/off and adjusted for angle of the danger zone cone. This part was done by Richard Szink.

This is our current alert system. It will be used to alert the operator if they are within the danger zone. This was created by Lanea Williamson and Charlie Nguyen.
