Course Descriptions - Civil Engineering

You are here

Courses central to the Civil Engineering Graduate Program are identified by the "CE" subject code and have a course number that is 400 or higher in the University Catalog (e.g. CE 480).  400-level courses serve both 4th year undergraduates and 1st year graduate students, and there is a limit on the number of such courses that can be counted towards the 30 credit M.S. Program requirements. There are no limits on the number of 800 and 900 level courses that a student can earn.

Elective courses are selected in consultation between the student and the advisor/guidance committee, and may include both non-required CE courses and those offered by other programs.  The following programs offer courses that are frequently elected by environmental engineering students:

Geological Sciences
Environmental Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Materials Science and Engineering

Physics

Statistics and Probability
