Academic Background:

I obtained my bachelors degree from the University of Kentucky in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering.  During my time at UK, I participated in biomedical engineering research during my sophomore year and received an NSF EPSCoR grant to continue this research into my junior year.  The summer of my senior year I completed an internship at the Center for Applied Energy Research at the University of Kentucky where I worked with algae and biofuel production.  This experience inspired me to shift my focus to bioenergy and sustainable biological systems.

Current Research Interests / Thesis Topic:

Cascade Biomass Conversion and Carbon Dioxide Sequestration Using Algae
