Emma studied Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Michigan State University from 2017-2021. During her undergraduate years at MSU, she conducted research focusing on rapid disease detection utilizing magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). She specifically studied and developed applications for the detection of dengue virus, as well as research into using MNPs in a test for antibiotic resistance. Emma is particularly passionate about biomedical engineering projects that provide accessible and cost-effective technologies to developing countries and underprivileged communities.
