The objectiv of the Student Exchange Program in Engineering is to provide engineering students full study periods in two contries by attending a joint study program at Machigan State University (MSU) and the National Taiwan University (NTU) at Taipei, Taiwan, and National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) at Hsinchu, Taiwan.

National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) is located in Hsinchu Taiwan, about fifty miles southwest of Taipei. The University is bordered by the Science-based Industrial Park, home to many Taiwan’s leading high-technology corporations. The College of Electrical and Information Engineering includes four national research centers: Semiconductor Research Center, Microelectronics & Information Systems Research Center, Center for Telecommunications Research, and National Nano Device Laboratory.

At the  present, the Department of Electronics Engineering consists of 55 faculty members, 450 undergraduates, 220 Master degree students, and 220 Ph.D. students.
