MentorNet
Are you wondering what an engineer does? Do you have questions on career paths and majors? Do you ever question
if engineering is the right place for you? Would you like to make a link to industry? Then MentorNet is the program
for you! MentorNet is a national email mentoring program for women students in engineering and science. As an MSU
engineering student, you can join this program at no cost to you. Why would you want an email mentor in industry? Industry mentors are great because they can answer lots of questions about majors and career paths. They can be very supportive and help you with strategies for coping with the engineering curriculum (remember, they went through this too). Having an email mentor is great because it is an informal relationship (no stress of meeting a corporate person or making all the arrangements to meet), and it requires very little time on your part. Also since we are part of a national email mentoring program, your selection of mentors is much wider. Mentors come from industries and locations all over the United States.
So if you would like to learn more about this great program, or you would like to sign up for the program, go to the MentorNet website at www.mentornet.com and follow the one on one mentoring sign up for students. Any questions, please feel free to contact me at: cordes@egr.msu.edu
