My Friends,

"do not dull thy palm with entertainment
    Of each new-hatched, unfledged comrade,

The friends thou hast, and their adoption tried
Grapple them to thy soul with hooks of steel"

-- Shakespeare (ok, ok adapted from Shakespeare)

My friends have always played a very important part in my life, These are the men and women who have shaped me to become what I am today, so if you have a problem with me, you now know who to blame :-) !!! To prevent a bad fist fight over my attention and ensuing bad things such as broken noses and blackened eyes, ( I can just about hear them say "You wish")  I will list my friends here in their alphabetical (and not any other) order.

Vinay Sharma

He is a chap I met in school. We still remain pretty good chums though I can't think of one reason why on earth ... Guess bad things happen in life :-). He is now doing his PhD in Computer Science and Computer Vision (or something like that) at Ohio State University, Columbus, OH.

Tithi Chattopadhyay

I met this girl while putting together a show for the MSU India Club and have since then never ceased to be impressed by her will and ability to stand strong for what she believes in. Extremely well read, she and rap (see below) are the two people you NEVER would want to try to impress by talking about things you don't really know about, because they will both be on to you before you know it (believe me, been there, done that !!!) . She is very intelligent, an amazing conversationalist (read, also a GREAT gossip :-) ) and easily one of the best people I have ever known. Currently a masters student in Industrial Mathematics at Michigan State University.

Sneha Teresa Thomas (snow)

She is one of the best friends I ever had... great girl, great chum.. I met here in my second year at IIT, had a lot of fun since. Extremely hardworking, she taught me a lot of things in life... (don't tell her that !!!:-)  She is currently a R&D engineer with National Instruments in Bangalore, India.

Shahana Chowdhury

I met Shahana for the first time, about a year and a half ago and all I can remember thinking is "How on earth can someone dance so much ?". Since then, I have come to know and respect her as a person with an unimaginable zest for life. She puts it best herself when she says her philosophy is "If you like it, overdo it!". A LOT of fun, an amazing person to hang around with, unbelievably talented(and not just at dancing) and as sweet a person as sweet can be, she is one of the best friends I have had. Along with Tithi she has been one of the primary reasons I have managed to maintain my sanity (though, truth be told, some people have other opinions) over the past six months. Currently a masters student in Advertising and Retailing at Michigan State University.

Sarita S Nair (sari)

Another girl I met in IIT, she is great person, very friendly and extremely talented. She can dance, sing and in general otherwise take you for a long ride :-). Currently doing her PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Missouri Rolla MO.

Rahul Alex Panicker (rap)

He, oh to talk about him I will need another page, so I will just pass it this time. One of the greatest guys I have ever met. He is so cocky that I am sure if he were to read something nice about him on this page, he would just say "well, I always knew that" so I will simply not feed his ego this time... :-) Hey ppl, I was just kidding, he is a brilliant guy, one of those who are really good a lot of things. He is currently making life difficult for Californians by doing his PhD at Stanford, Palo Alto, CA. I hear that they are making it a rule that any resident of California should take bath at least once in three days.

Mrudula Dasika (mrdz)

She is another of those ppl I met at IIT, the four of us, sari, snow mrdz and me had spent a lot of time together... had a LOT of fun... She is very imaginative and can think up wonders that other mortals like me can only marvel at. A wonderful person to be with, she is currently working as a software engineer for Tata Consulting Services, Hyderabad, India.

Mohammed Adib Ibrahim (abi)

I met this guy during the first week of my undergrad and the only thing i could think of was that everything seemed to be too large, he was too tall, his glasses were too thick and he showed too many of his teeth when he smiled. Well... i still donot know if any of that has changed... but then he and I have gone on to become thick as thieves... i created a record while during my undergrad for having slept an entire semester in someone else's room .... adib's... well.. he is currently working as a software engineer at I2 Technologies, Bangalore, India.

Anil Alexander (daddy)

Daddy was exactly that to a lot of us, daddy !!!. He was a great friend and a person that had a lot of influence on the way I turned out through college. He is currently working in the area of Forensic Medicine (ugghhhh) at EPFL, Switzerland. I hear he is also trying to wrestle a PhD out of the deal.

So many people, so much to write, so little web space !!! :-)
