Kinetics of Probe Hybridization in Microfluidic DNA Biochips

DNA microarrays and biochips have become increasingly popular in biomedical research. These technologies can provide a high level of selectivity and sensitivity for detection of DNA, and have been a subject of intense development efforts in the recent years. The central component of these technologies is the highly selective nucleic acid hybridization .Therefore understanding the kinetics of nucleic acid hybridization from reaction of single-stranded oligonucleotide immobilized in microfluidic based biochip with their complimentary in solution is critical in the design and optimization of microfluidic biochips and microarrays.(copyright Ahsan Munir)
