Chapter 1

• pg 13 Eqn. 1.9, The A1 is supposed to be part of the subscript. The entire expression "avg,A1" should be ital and sub.(1/26/99)
• pg 19, Real Fluids, center of first paragraph, P^set should be P^sat (1/11/99)

      further, our requested change was misunderstood. It should read " ....as an ideal gas at 100^oC (P^sat = 0.1014 MPa)."
• pg 26 Reference to appendix B that appeared in the proof pages is now missing.  This is the next to last line before figure.(1/26/99)

• pg 37  Eqn 2.6. The equation was technically correct in the proof copy. The paranthesis are in the wrong place now. The equation should read W_flow = (PV)ⁱⁿ mⁱⁿ - (PV)^out m^out (dots omitted here). (1/26/99)
• pg 38  4th line of section 2.4, The phrase "maintaining order requires work" was to be changed to  "generation of disorder results in lost work". The change wasn't made. (1/26/99)
• pg 39  next to last paragraph, third line should reference Chapter 3. (1/26/99)
• pg 53 4th line before example.  xref to Appendix E is now missing. (1/26/99)
• pg 55  below the second equation, the changes where entered incorrectly and the  wording is confusing. The correct wording should be:  where T is in °C, and B and C are Antoine parameters for the common logarithm of pressure. For Antoine parameters intended for other temperature or  pressure units, the equation must be carefully converted. (1/26/99)
• pg 58  second line of the solution, the degree symbol wasn't added. Either it should  be added on 20, or it should be deleted later in the line on 24 to be consistent. (1/26/99)
• pg 59  Example 2.7, equation. The z is to be l.c. (1/26/99)
• pg 61  last line of first paragraph should reference chapter 4 (1/26/99)
• pg 66  item number 6, 4th line should reference Chapter 6 (1/26/99)
• pg 72  first (ig) Eqn., only the first V subscript was made uppercase, the second one  needs to be changed also. (1/26/99)
• pg 78  problem P2.6 solution should be Q = 0 (dot ommitted here). (1/26/99)
• pg 81  problem 2.13, "gass" should be "gas". It was inserted incorrectly. (1/26/99)
• pg 82  problem 2.22, in the last line "value" should be "valve"(2/11/99)

• pg 87, Macroscopic definition, last paragraph should read: Molar or specific entropy... (1/11/99)
• pg 90 footnote, compositor used wrong word, non-intergrating should be  non-interacting (1/26/99)
• pg 100 line after 3.18 should reference Chapter 2 (1/26/99)
• pg 102 third line under Entropy Generation should reference Chapter 2 (1/26/99)
• pg 108 figure, on W change subscript to S,net (1/26/99)
• pg 108 next to last line, change the second W subscript to S,net.  Also add a carriage return before the arrow to improve appearance. (1/26/99)
• pg 109 there is an important minus sign missing on W{sub}S,net of Eqn. 3.33. (1/26/99)
• pg 110, Eqn 3.35 is still missing the S,net subscript on the second W. (1/26/99)
• pg 120 last line. There are minor errors due to values read from outdated steam tables. 2584.3=2583.9, 620.7=621, and then on pg 121, 620.7=621 in eta eqn and lost work just below.  290.3 = 290 in lw. (2/11/99)
• pg 122, the line above Multistage Compression was added, but the last H should be a W. Also for W add  a subscript u.c. ital S (i.e., W_S ) (1/26/99)
• pg 128, The uppercase P's in the two (*ig) equations expressions C_P should be  italicized subscripts of C (1/26/99)

• p 152 last line of part (b), replace "120,000" with "126,500", and replace "828" with "872".(2/16/98)
• p 167 problem 4.7, third line 0.88% = 88% (2/13/98)
• p 168 problem 4.11(a) and (b), replace the word "turbine" with the word "compressor" (2/13/98)
• p 169 problem 4.14(e), the second compressor  is to be 85% efficient (2/13/98)
