Content Errors

• page 22, first line of solution to example 1.6 should read  ....range 1 MPa < P < 1.2 MPa. (9/24/98)
• page 59, example 2.10, Eqn. 2.52. Delete the minus sign on the right hand side of each equation. (9/24/98)
• page206, Eqn. 7.33, multiply right-hand side by -1. (11/4/98)
• page 231, there is an error in the calculations leading to the figures. To obtain a replacement page, using lnj = lnj⁰ + wln j¹, click here.(9/24/98)
• page 251, the paragraph and figure can be obtained in pdf format by clicking here. (9/24/98)
• page 256, last line of paragraph following Eqn 9.38 should read x₁(P₁^sat - P₂^sat) + P₂^sat.
• page 274, Eqn. 10.13, The right-most expression is missing P in the numerator.(12/21/98)
• page 301, example 11.1 at top of page, chemical potential in first two lines should be excess chemical potential. (11/3/98)
• page 321, line above equation for (M-M^ig) should  read ... any intensive departure function....(11/3/98)
• page 321, next to last line should read ...there are N_ANc₁x₂₁/2 pair....(11/3/98)
• page 340, assumption 6w, (A^E/RT)^COMB = Flory's equation, assumption 6u, left hand side should be (A^E/RT)^COMB.(12/21/98)
• page 356, Example 12.2, equations for ln(gamma), power 2 is typed in line. Also ln(gammaB) = 21.2. (12/21/98)
• page 422, Figure 14.4, there is an error in the calculation of y1. All other values are correct.(12/21/98)
• page 426, Example 14.12, objective functions F1 and F2, delete N_T term from both.
• page 497,

4th integral should be int(x³dx/(ax+b))=[ (ax+b)³/3 - 3b*(ax+b)²/2 +3b²*(ax+b)-b³*ln(ax+b) ]/a⁴
6th integral should be - instead of + on the ln term.
8th integral should be -b² instead of -b³ in second term.

• PRMIX.EXE dated 9-3-98 was inadvertently zipped twice and is also an outdated version. The file has been updated (10/23/98) to a version that has better convergence behavior. The file critparm.txt must also be downloaded. The archives containing the PRMIX directory (PROGPACK.EXE and PRPACK.EXE)  have also been updated to reflect these changes. The recommended fix is to download PRPACK.EXE, place in in your PRMIX directory and execute the file. PRPACK.EXE can be safely deleted after the the other files in the directory are updated.(10/23/98)
