Abstract
Filamentary composite structural components used in engineering
applications are usually subjected to stochastic loads. Composites have
strongly anisotropic properties and display significantly non-linear
behavior when loaded in shear. The finite element technique is used
together with the method of equivalent linearization to study the
in-plane non-linear random vibration response of uni-directional
laminae. The method may be easily adapted to analyze laminated
composites.
