3rd Place Finish in Endurance at Goodyear Shootout!
The MSU Formula Racing Team finished endurance in 3rd place at the 2011 Goodyear Shootout! The event was hosted on September 17th at the Goodyear Proving Grounds in Akron, Ohio. After a year of hard work, the team finished in 15th place overall out of 122 teams, a 9 position increase compared to last year. Car 51 is starting to look like a race car now! The chassis is being finish welded as we speak and many of the components of the race car are being fabricated. Check out some of the pictures posted under Car 51 manufacturing. We will begin to post video’s of team member’s progress with Car 51 as we progress through the Spring Semester. 2010 Big Ten Shootout
The MSU Formula Racing Team competed this past weekend on Saturday, November 6th, at the 2010 Big Ten Shootout. The shootout took place at Grissom Air Force Base and was hosted by Purdue University and the University of Wisconsin. A number of teams from the Big 10 were in attendance for a fun filled day of racing and testing. Autocross and Endurance rounds were held, with MSU taking 3rd place overall. The MSU Formula Racing Team completed very successful testing sessions at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, MI on September 25-26 and October 23-24. The team was able to run Car 71 on skidpad, acceleration and autocross courses very similar to what will be seen at the 2011 FSAE Michigan Competition, which will also be at MIS. Valuable data was collected that will help team members improve the design of the team’s newest vehicle, Car 51. The team would like to thank Michigan International...

Welcome! The MSU Formula Racing Team is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit student-run organization at Michigan State University whose purpose is to promote collegiate education through the design, manufacturing and marketing of a small, open wheel racecar annually for the Formula SAE collegiate competition series. The team is funded solely through cash and in-kind donations by sponsors and run entirely by students at MSU.
