WDC; SAE Foundation Display, Eaton Performance Park @ Memorial Park, Royal Oak, MI
On a very early morning last Saturday, the team loaded up Car 9 and headed down to Eaton Performance Park in Royal Oak for the 12th annual Woodward Dream Cruise. For those who aren't familiar with the event, the WDC has become the World's largest one-day celebration of cars and the culture that surrounds them. Fittingly, it is held each August along Woodward Avenue, the crem-de-la-crem of cruise spots from the days when leaded gasoline phrases like there's no replacement for displacement ruled the Detroit auto scene.
Team members had the opportunity to spend the day with the fine folks from the SAE Foundation, displaying Car 9 as an example of SAE's premier collegiate competition series; Formula SAE. The Eaton Performance Park was packed with people throughout the day and we had a wonderful, albeit tiring, time answering questions and taking pictures.
