Welcome! The MSU Formula Racing Team is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit student-run organization at Michigan State University whose purpose is to promote collegiate education through the design, manufacturing and marketing of a small, open wheel racecar annually for the Formula SAE collegiate competition series. The team is funded solely through cash and in-kind donations by sponsors and run entirely by students at MSU.

Race for a Cause program to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation
When Car 51 races around the endurance course at Michigan International Speedway and Auto Club Speedway in the next several months, it won't just be exciting the fans and team members; it will be making wishes come true.
Under the team's Race for a Cause program, Car 51's team is collecting per-lap pledges for every lap at the two venues. 100% of the pledges collected are being donated to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan.
The average price of a wish is $5,000, and for the 2008 season, the team is hoping to grant at least one.

2008 North American International Auto Show
The 2008 North American International Auto Show is rapidly approaching and thanks to continued support from The Detroit Auto Dealers Association, the team is happy to report that will have an opportunity to showcase our program at the World's premier display of automotive excellence.
We wanted to make 2008 an extra special year at NAIAS, and thanks to a new partnership with George P. Johnson Company, this dream has been made a reality. GPJ has been kind enough to lend us their expert Experience Media talent and a number of properties to help showcase cars 9, 41 and 3 and highlight the experience of being a part of the MSU Formula Racing Team. Further enhancing our display is made possible by the generous support of Donald E. McNabb Flooring, Convention and Show Services, EPJ Logistics, City Animation Company, Motor City Electric Company and Fantasee Lighting. Our team is truly in a great deal of debt to all of these companies and the generous people who work at them; they have done more for us than we could have ever imagined.
Similar to last year's show, the team's display will once again be located in Michigan Hall. To get there, we suggest taking the escalator located on the East Concourse or utilizing the escalator located just behind the Volkswagen display on the main floor. MSU's space is located on the northern wall of Michigan Hall. Click here to see where.
We invite you to stop by, talk to team members, see the racecars, and share in our experiences in the world's largest engineering competition while enjoying all of the sights of the world's largest auto show.
