I am a PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University. I received M.S. at Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Southern California in 2014. I was a visiting researcher at Computer Laboratory of University of Cambridge, hosted by Dr. Cecelia Mascolo and Bell Laboratories, mentored by Dr. Nicholas D. Lane. I interned with Anticipatory Computing Lab, Intel Labs, directed by Lama Nachman in 2016. Presently, I am a group member of Intelligent Sensing and Mobile Systems Group, under the supervision of Dr. Mi Zhang .
My research interest focuses on designing, developing, and evaluating mobile and deep learning powered technologies. My work roughly involves building hardware sensing platform, designing intelligent modelling algorithms, and conduct extensive evaluation. Recently, I am particularly interested in mobilizing deep learning -- bring deep learning to resource-constraint devices.
I love things that are related to picture and color (e.g., photograhpy). Please visit my Gallery page to get a taste on some selected pieces. Usually, I upload my photos into my 500px personal page. As an aside, I also do time-lapse photography from time to time. Take a glance at my Time-Lapse page.
