What I like to do when I have time to Kill....

I never really had any interests but there are moments when I would like to do certain things . They can be categorized as follows

Sports:This is what I usually get into when I want some respectable dose of relaxation coupled with some action. I had played Hockey and Volley-ball in college. Then I would also occasionally dabble with table-tennis.In the summer of 2005 I learnt to play tennis. These days raquet-ball & "pool" has caught my fancy. I also have developed an inclination towards american football, however I stricly limit my involvement as an audience.

Dramatics : I took a first peek into my thespian side in 2nd (sophomore)year. Most of the plays I acted in were in bengali.I also did a couple of acts during "Sargam", 2004 and 2005. It is an annual cultural festival organised by the Indian graduate students here at Michigan State University.

Philosophy:"Cogito Ergo Sum" which means "I think therefore I am" is a famous quote by the father of mordern philosophy , Rene De Cartes. So there is no way I can stop thinking , because I exist.I am still a neophyte in it,leaning how to think "philosophically" .I love to get into an engaging discussion on this topic over a warm cup of coffee. As of now I manage coerce only few people kill their time over this "issue". They are Shishir , Devesh and Ajay.
These days I am reading a book called "Sophie's World" by Jostein Garder. It efortlessly manages to cultivated curiosity about our mundane existence and slowly integrates all the questions into a big picture.

Programming: I also like to code in different programming languages . AS of now I have gained some experience in Java , C and lately Fortran. I choose to see them as an elequent way to express your logic and make your handy Pentium / AMD do your bidding. Currently I am taking a course in Computational physics (PHY480) where I mainly code in FORTRAN 77 . Here are some of the results

1. COOL animated Simulations !!

2. Frequency Spectrum

Anime : This is Japanese for "Animation". I love them for their surreal visuals and gripping story lines. Somes of the well know films are "Ghost in the Shell" and "Final Fantasy-VII" . The former has has single handedly defined what animes are all about.Few other anime serials i like to watch are "Naruto" , "Bleach" and "Evangelion neon genesis"
