CURRENT FUNDING

1. NSF ERC for WIMS; Received $ 2.9 M during 2000-08

IN 2000, AN NSF ERC WAS JOINTLY AWARDED TO 3 MICHIGAN UNIVERSITIES (UM/MSU/MTU): NSF ERC for Wireless Integrated Micro Systems (WIMS); APPROX. $ 30 MILLION DOLLARS (half of that comes from NSF) DURING 2000-10; 34 PROFESSORS, 120 Ph.D. students

My role in the WIMS project:

(i) Assoc. Director of NSF ERC and MSU-PI; MSU's share is approximately $ 370,000 per year during 2000-08

(ii) My research for WIMS focuses on neurls probes, cochlear implant probes, poly-C RFMEMS resonators, poly-C all-diamond packaging, and carbon nanotubes for pre-concentrator of micro GC

(ii) Innovative K-12 program developed at MSU and I am MSU instructor for the WIMS courses offered to MSU students.

2. K-12 Funding; Received $ 85,000 from schools/parents during 2003-08
