Women in Engineering Summer Residential Program – If you have ever wondered about engineering as a career, enjoy figuring our how things work or think you may be interested in engineering then this summer program is for you. Participants will be exposed to the disciplines in Engineering. Special sessions are presented on women in engineering issues, diversity, cooperative education, and international education opportunities. The program concludes with a closing ceremony involving students, their parents, participating faculty, student assistants and academic staff. The program is open to students who are going into the 10th, 11th or 12th grade. This is a Residential program, so living on campus is required. WOW That's Engineering - If you are a middle school student and want to explore engineering, join us for this one day event in the spring. The day will include hands on engineering activities, panels, great information, and cool things to take home. Come meet other women interested in engineering, current college students studying engineering, practicing engineers and engineering faculty.
Current Student Programs
MSU Women in Computing – This student organization is open to all students who are interested in computing. They create a positive environment for students and provide opportunities for personal, professional and educational development. Society of Women Engineers (SWE) – SWE is a large and active student organization in the College of Engineering. SWE serves as a support base for women students who are studying engineering but is open to all engineering students. Members of SWE can participate in many programs including regular meetings, outreach, community service, social events, leadership opportunities, engineering conferences, awards banquets, fundraising events, scholarship opportunities, and connections with corporate partners. Phi Sigma Rho - This is a social sorority for female engineers, and is an exclusive group for those who are invited to join. There will be rush events in the fall and spring of each year. If you are interested in joining please check out the website for dates and contact information.
