What will you gain from Triangle?

In Triangle, Brothers learn lessons of group living, personality and character development, in an atmosphere designed for fullest benefit to the individual. Triangle, thus, provides a bridge between academic life and a career, as well as a foundation for success in the years after college.

Brotherhood

This chapter prides itself on its Brotherhood. As one of the smaller houses, we are close to each other. Besides the Brothers you will gain at Michigan State University, you will also gain the Brotherhood of all Brothers of Triangle worldwide.

Academics

The chapter places a great importance on academics. Each member is required to maintain above a 2.6 GPA. Brothers often tutor one another, because of the shared classes that engineers and sciences are required to take. Besides the direct help, we also have previous tests and notes for classes taken in former semesters.

Professionalism

We come to college to graduate and enter the professional world. Through Triangle you will gain a one up from everyone. When you join Triangle you gain all the alumni contacts that are a great opportunity to gain an internship, co-op, or full-time position. Besides our alumni, our advisor, Bernadette Friedrich is a part of The Center in the Engineering Building and will gladly help you get the extra step in the career process.

Social Skills

Whether you are socially active or not very social at all, we can all use work on this most important skill. Engineers have been known to have problems with interpersonal communication. With all the studying you do, you need to get skilled in working in groups, problem solving, and communication. The University just doesn't help you much in this regard and neither does a token membership in most engineering organizations.

Leadership and Responsibility

There are many opportunities that exist within the chapter for you to gain these great qualities. Even in your pledge semester there are opportunities to be the leader of your class. As a Brother of Triangle there are many important positions to be filled, whether it is the most important president position or simply the webmaster, you will be able to show employers and other Brothers that you are can be relied on to get the job done.

Athletics

Athletics are important for two reasons: maintaining physical fitness and building cooperation between house members.
