Wickes Manufacturing TCE Plume;
Mancelona, Michigan

Updates on the investigation of and proposed remedies for the Mancelona TCE Plume will be posted in November and December.

The updates will cover the following issues:

1.  Current status of the investigation of the TCE Plume .  Key questions include: What areas are affected by the plume?  Is the plume moving?  If so, in what direction is it moving?  What has Michigan DEQ done to investigate the plume?

2.  Proposed remedies to "clean up" the TCE.   This item will provide information on both common and innovative methods that are under consideration by Michigan DEQ.

3.  Residential water samplingThis item will address the current activities of Michigan DEQ and the Northwest Michigan Community Health Agency to sample residential drinking water and determine TCE concentrations.
