GLMAC/TAB has committed their support to Jackson County, Michigan
based on the nomination from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Region 5. GLMAC/TAB worked with Jackson County, to provide background
for their preparation of a Brownfields pilot application. An educational
workshop entitled "An Informative Update on Brownfield Redevelopment
Initiatives and Incentives" was held in April with assistance from Consumers
Renaissance Development Corporation. The workshop featured guests speakers
from both the EPA Region 5 and the Michigan Department of Environmental
Quality (MDEQ).
In addition, GLMAC/TAB is working with MSU department of Resource Development
on a prototype Brownfields Redevelopment Decision Support System that
uses, in part, GIS-Smart Places.
GLMAC/TAB has also begun drafting the community outreach educational
plan with the County BRA in Jackson. Mr. Michael Lang, a graduate student
