Summary of TOSC assistance

On February 12th, 2003, TOSC and the Grand Calumet Task Force conducted a kick-off meeting with the community on the Indiana Harbor and Canal Project. During the meeting, TOSC discussed the assistance it will provide to address community concerns, including independent scientific review of data.

Kirk Riley, TOSC Program Manager opened the meeting with an overview of the TOSC program. To view his power point presentation click here. Dr. Milind Khire, Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University gave a review of Confined Disposal Facility and addressed the community concerns regarding construction of CDF. On June 2nd, 2004, TOSC held a meeting to present the results of its review of the Corps's Dredging Alternatives Analysis. Dr. Danny Reible and Dr. Peter Orris presented their work to community members. Click here to view Dr. Reible's presentation.
