Community Meetings

August 4, 2004

On Wednesday, August 4, 2004, the Technical Outreach Services for Communities (TOSC) held a public information meeting (Meeting Agenda) sponsored by Scio Residents for Safe Water (SRSW) and the City of Ann Arbor. During this meeting Larry Lemke, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer at Wayne State University, provided information about the treatment options being proposed by both Pall Life Sciences and MDEQ. Dr. Lemke also spoke of the "gaps" that are still remaining, namely a stochastic groundwater flow and contaminant transport model of the affected area. Shortly after the public meeting, Dr. Lemke was invited to join David Fair, host of Issues in the Environment, for an on air discussion of the Pall Life Sciences 1,4-Dioxane contamination.
