MINERGY PERMIT APPLICATION FOR A SEWAGE SLUDGE INCINERATOR/GLASS AGGREGATE PRODUCTION FACILITY

SITE LOCATION

The incinerator was proposed for construction in the Delray neighborhood, in southwest Detroit, Michigan. (Minergy Corp., however, never received a permit from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.)

SITE DESCRIPTION (as of dates of TOSC assistance)

Minergy, Corp., LLC, submitted a permit to build a facility in southwest Detroit. The air permit application, for a sewage sludge incinerator that would produce glass aggregate from its operation, was submitted to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) in 2000. The facility would replace the out-of-compliance existing sewage sludge incinerators, also located in Delray, southwest Detroit.
