Welcome to the Michigan State University Student Engineering Council’s, (commonly known as SEC), website.

The Student Engineering Council has been a fast growing commodity within the College of Engineering.  The council acts as a governing student body for the College of Engineering which works closely with the Center and various Deans of each engineering department.  Additionally the SEC acts as a liaison for all student run organizations within the College of Engineering.

SEC is a subsidiary of the National Association of Engineering Student Councils, commonly referred to as NAESC.  Our council was recognized by NAESC in September of 1992.  Since its founding, we have created events such as Organizations night (O-Night) that occurs both in the fall and spring semesters, and a doughnut and cider social right before Halloween.  Additionally NAESC has recognized our efforts to give back to the community.

During Engineering week (E-week) last February, SEC collaborated with the Impression 5 Museum to teach children grades K-6 about fun activities that science has to offer.  Over 30 student organizations took part in the program and our council was rewarded at the NAESC conference this past April with the best outreach program for the 2012 to 2013 academic year.

It is our goal to continue to grow upon this great achievement by finding new and creative ways to give back to the community and university.  We also look to excel in bringing greater awareness of the council and encourage students to get involved to make the college better as a whole.

On our site you will find information regarding our organization, meetings, events, how to contact us and more. Please feel free to navigate through our site and contact us if you have any comments or concerns.  I hope all the aforementioned media above was found to be helpful and interesting.

Also attached below is our calender which will you help keep track of our meetings and other events.
