CD Label Template Copyright 1998 Tim Humphrey --------------------------- Description ----------- CD Label Template is a Microsoft Word template for creating CD jackets. There are sections provided for you to make the front cover, the inside jacket, the back cover, and the left and right spines. Additionally, to help make cutting the covers out easier there are dashed lines leading to the covers. This is particularly useful if you use a paper cutter to cut out the covers. Recent Changes -------------- * Adjusted the table cell sizes a little so the covers fit a little better in the jewel case. * Made the cell's row height to be exact, this way if you type a lot into a cell it won't grow to accommodate the new text. System Requirements ------------------- Microsoft Word 97 or higher, maybe lower too Usage Instructions ------------------ Double-click the icon Installation ------------ To make CD Label Template available as a template within Word, move it to your templates folder for Microsoft Word, this could be: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates Cover Tips ---------- These are things I found useful while making my CD covers. - Text that floats over a watermarked picture * First off, insert the picture. Go to the Insert menu and choose Picture, and From File from the submenu. Find and insert your picture. Click on the picture to highlight it. Choose Format Picture from the Format menu. Under the Picture tab, select Watermark in the color popup menu. Under the Position tab, select the Float Over Text checkbox. Finally, under the Wrapping tab choose None for the Wrapping Style; you have to check the Float Over Text option before you can change the wrapping style. Click OK, now you can move the picture around without messing up the table. * Now make the text. I had problems when printing of the picture showing above the text, not what I wanted. To get around this I had to make a text box for the text. So, go to the Insert menu and choose Text Box; don't forget you have to click and drag to make the text box, try to make it the size of the cell you want the text to be in. Now choose Format Text Box in the Format menu. Under the Colors and Lines tab choose No Fill for the fill color. Click OK, now your text floats over a background. - Using Tabs If you decide not to use a text box for your text then you will run into a problem when trying to tab. Namely, you will be taken to the next cell when you press tab. To get around this simply press control while you press tab.
