Research Biography

Yanni Sun is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. She earned her Ph.D. (’08) in computer science from Washington University in St. Louis. Sun's research interests are bioinformatics, computational biology, and developing algorithms and software to solve problems motivated by molecular biology. Her recent focus is efficient algorithms for discovering protein and noncoding RNA signals hidden in large-scale databases.
