Research Biography

Pang-Ning Tan received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and M.S. degree in Physics from the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on the development and application of data mining algorithms for a wide variety of applications including Earth Science, social networks, Web mining, medical informatics, and computer security. His research interests include pattern discovery in large databases, mining spatio-temporal and evolving data sets, incorporating background knowledge into data mining, and mining graphs and network data.
