William A. Burdette

William A. Burdette of Windham, N.H. (BS ’66 and MS ’68 Elec Egr; PhD Comp Sci ’72) died unexpectedly Feb. 3, 2014, from complications following surgery. He was 69.
Burdette was born and raised in Baltimore.
He earned three degrees from Michigan State University: a bachelor’s degree (1966) and master’s degree (1968) in electrical engineering, and a doctorate (1972) in computer science. He was a member of the Honors College.
He worked for Bell Laboratories (Lucent) in Holmdel, N.J., and North Andover, Mass. After retiring from Lucent, he worked for Toyota of Nashua, N.H., as an auto parts delivery driver.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; daughter Valerie Burdette and her husband, Michael Jew; son Joel Burdette and his wife, Melissa; son Eric Burdette and his wife, Melissa; son Graham Burdette and his wife, Jennifer; and his grandchildren, Emily, Isaac, Luke, and Miles.
There was a memorial service on Feb. 15 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Nashua, N.H. Donations can be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church or to St. John’s-on-the-Lake in Meredith, N.H. Peabody Funeral Homes assisted the family, www.peabodyfuneralhome.com
