Ronald Peter Diehl
Ronald Peter Diehl (BS Mech Egr '68) died June 12, 2012, in Alexandria, Va. He was born on June 11, 1942, to Edward and Ethel Diehl of Staten Island, N.Y. He graduated from Williston Academy in Easthampton, Mass. After receiving his engineering degree, Diehl had a 36-year career with the U. S. Department of Defense, most recently developing alternative energy projects for the U.S. Army.
Diehl spent 19 years in Germany, where he earned recognition completing non-stop, overnight 120-km walks. His passions were music, humor, Germany, the New York Times, and trains. He was a volunteer usher at Library of Congress Chamber Concerts for 10 years, as well as in his church.
His is survived by his wife, Sandra Blake; brother, Ed Diehl; stepmother, Bunny Diehl; stepson, Steven Neal; three nieces and nephews; and four grandnieces and grandnephews.
