Mohammad Mubashir ul Bari

Mohammad Mubashir ul Bari (MS ELEC EGR ’73) died Dec. 29, 2016, after a several-year battle with metastatic melanoma. He was 70.

He was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Amritsar, India and spent his childhood in Lahore, Pakistan, with his nine siblings. He attended the Government College in Lahore and served in the Pakistani Military Service in the Pakistani-India war.

In 1970, he sought higher education and emigrated from Pakistan to the United States, where he had received a master’s degree in electrical engineering at Michigan State University in 1973.

He spent his career as an electrical engineer at Borroughs, Digital Equipment Corporation, Apollo Computers, and finally for Hewlett Parkard in Boise, Idaho, where he worked for 15 years as a senior electrical engineer and mentor.

A memorial service was held at the Boise Depot Meeting Station on Jan. 2.
