Jack Martinic

Jack Martinic (BS Mech Egr ’71) of Granger, Ind., died at his home on Sept. 22, 2014. He was 72.

He was born Aug. 24, 1942, in St. Joseph, Mich., to the late Thomas and Emmlie (Kapuga) Martinic.

He married Laura “Lori” Harris on Nov. 2, 1974, in Benton Harbor, Mich.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from MSU in 1971 and worked for 33 years as an engineer with life-long friends at Bendix/Bosch.

He is survived by his wife, Laura "Lori" (Harris) Martinic, of Granger; his daughter Tricia and her husband, Jeremy Wheelock of Holland, Mich.; his son Brian and his wife, Rachel Martinic of West Olive, Mich.; his grandchildren: Elle, Britta, Jack, and Fiona; his brother William Martinic of Freemont, Ohio; and his sister Lee Zacha of Boulder, Colo.

He was a member of St. Pius X Parish and served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1966.

Services were Sept. 26 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger. Burial was next to Jack, Jr., at Sumption Prairie Cemetery.
