Herman "Herm" Christian Feikema

Herman "Herm" Christian Feikema (BS '64, MS '65, Elec Egr) of Rockford, Mich., died Jan. 25. He was 72.

He was born April 21, 1942, to the late John and Gertrude (Oldenkamp) Feikema in Rockford.

He was a life-long resident of the Rockford area, graduating from Rockford High School.

He earned a bachelor's degree in 1964 and a master's degree in 1965 in electrical engineering from Michigan State University.

He was a top electrical engineer in the field of aviation and navigatio. His work took him around the globe to places like Israel and New Zealand.

He is survived by his siblings Hermina Feikema, Donahue (Althea) Feikema, John (Sharon) Feikema, and Gerald Feikema; 11 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Berdena (Hank) Bosman and Marie Feikema; and niece and nephews Gary, Bob, and Sharon Bosman.

Funeral services were Jan. 29 at Blythefield Christian Reformed Church in Rockford, with burial at Courtland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Blythefield CRC to assist with Christian education; Fulton Manor, or a charity of your choice.
