Hayes M. "Carl" Hobolth

Hayes M. "Carl" Hobolth (BS Ag Egr ‘58) of Fowlerville died Sept. 28, 2014. He was 83.

He was born Oct. 15, 1930, in Imlay City, the son of Carl and Bereniece (Major) Hobolth. He married Viola Alexander in Martinez, Calif., on Oct. 18, 1951.

He graduated from Michigan State University in 1958 with a bachelor's degree in agriculture engineering and went on to a long career at the General Motors Proving Grounds, Milford; Defense Department, Warren; and Michigan Scientific, Milford. He retired from the GM Proving Grounds.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War and a member of Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fenton.

Surviving are: wife, Viola, son, Michael (Vicki) Hobolth and their son, Christopher; daughter, Sandra (Daniel) Carpenter and their children, Abigail, Mitchell and Enoch; daughters in law, Christina (Steve) Raemisch, and their children, Eliana, Jonathan, Max, Victoria and Reagan; Traci (Richard) Hopper.

Services were Oct. 2 at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Road, Fenton. Memorials can be made to the Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church or Genesee Christian School.
