Elwyn L. Kitchen Jr.

Elwyn L. Kitchen Jr. (BS Mech Egr '52) of Pawleys Island, S.C., died March 25 at his residence. He was 84.

Born in Royal Oak, he was a son of the late Mabel Seymour and Elwyn L. Kitchen Sr.

Kitchen was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a 1952 graduate of Michigan State University in mechanical engineering and worked as a mechanical engineer for General Motors for 37 years.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Christine P. Kitchen of Pawleys Island; a brother, the Rev. Reid Kitchen and his wife Beverly; a son, Philip Kitchen and his wife Ruth; and their daughters, Leah Tovar and her husband Nick, Ashley and Hannah; a daughter, Patricia Crane and her children, Paige Bradley, her husband Trestin and Claire; a daughter, Pamela Kitchen and son Raymond Keller of Pawleys Island; a son, Paul Kitchen and his wife Natasha and their children, Jenia and Nina Christina.

Memorial services were March 30 at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church.
