David W. Miedema
David W. Miedema (BS Elec Egr ’72) of Elkhart, Ind., died Jan. 7, 2014, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was 63.
He was born Sept. 16, 1950, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Donald William and Kathleen M. (Vanderwerf) Miedema.
He married Wanda L. Harper on Feb. 14, 1981, in Princeton.
He was an electrical engineer at Mercury Displacement Industries in Edwardsburg, Mich., for the last 28 years.
He was a 1972 graduate of Michigan State University.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Miedema of Elkhart; son U.S. Army Captain David W. Jr., M.D. (Tiffany) Miedema of Fort Drum, N.Y.; granddaughter Renee Miedema of Fort Drum; mother Kathleen Miedema of Jenison, Mich.; brother Thomas (Sherry) Miedema White Cloud, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Miedema, in 2001.
Funeral services were Jan. 12, 2014, in Bristol, Ind., with arrangements by Waterman Westbrook Clouse Funeral Home of Elkhart.
