Claude W. Simons

Claude W. Simons (BS MECH EGR ’44), Riverview, Fla., and formerly of Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Manistee, Mich., died Dec. 2, 2015. He was 93.

He earned a mechanical engineering degree from Michigan State University in 1944. 

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, on the USS Lexington and the USS Cabot. 

He retired from the Packaging Corporation of America in Manistee, and Allied Chemical, Syracuse, N.Y. 

He is survived by his son, Robert Simons of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; daughter, Judy (Larry) Warrick of Valrico, Fla.; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Gilbert) Simons; daughter, Cathy O'Donnell; and brothers, Warren Simons and Fred Simons. 

A spring burial is planned at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
