A Spartan welcome to NUIST of China

A new partnership with Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in China will provide opportunties for an exchange of students and scholars following a signing ceremony in the MSU International Center on Wednesday, Sept. 23.DeAndra Beck, associate dean for research in the MSU International Studies and Programs office, and Lianshui Li, chancellor and professor of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in China, signed a general agreement to foster international cooperation in education and research between the two institutions.

Also participating in the ceremony were:

Xingming Sun, dean and professor of the Nanjing University College of Computer and Software in Pukou, Nanjing, China,

Guoyue Tang, director of the international affairs offices at Nanjing,

John Verboncoeur, associate dean for research in the MSU College of Engineering,

Alex Liu, an associate professor of computer science and engineering at Michigan State University,

Matt Mutka, chair of computer science and engineering at Michigan State University,

and Mary Anne Walker, director of international engineering programs.
