Ford CEO Jim Hackett featured at 52nd annual Detroit Executive Forum on Oct. 5 

Register now for the 52nd annual MSU Detroit Executive Forum at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. The 2017 keynote speaker is Jim Hackett, president & CEO of the Ford Motor Company.Ford CEO Jim Hackett joins long list of corporate leaders to offer keynote address at Detroit Executive Forum. 

The event is presented by the College of Engineering and the Eli Broad College of Business, with the cooperation of the Detroit Spartans.

Jim Hackett, President and CEO, Ford Motor Company
Jim Hackett is president and chief executive officer, Ford Motor Company, effective May 22, 2017. He also is a member of the company’s board of directors. 

Prior to serving in this role, Hackett was chairman of Ford Smart Mobility LLC, a subsidiary of Ford formed to accelerate the company’s plans to design, build, grow and invest in emerging mobility services. 

He retired as CEO of Steelcase in February 2014, after having spent 20 years leading the Grand Rapids-based office furniture company. He was interim director of athletics at the University of Michigan from Oct. 31, 2014, to March 11, 2016, where he led the search for a permanent athletic director appointed in January 2016. He played center on the University of Michigan football team prior to graduating from the university with a bachelor’s degree in finance in 1977. 

MSU Detroit Executive Forum
The MSU Detroit Executive Forum is presented by the Eli Broad College of Business and the College of Engineering at Michigan State University. Throughout its 52-year history in Southeast Michigan, the program has hosted CEOs and other senior executives of many Fortune 100 companies as well as influential business leaders from the region. This forum, held annually since 1965, has featured top executives and entrepreneurs. Recent keynote addresses have been delivered by Bob Chapek, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts; Mark Hollis, MSU Athletics Director, and Tom Izzo, MSU Head Basketball Coach; Peter Faricy, General Manager, Amazon Global Marketplace; Mary Barra, CEO, General Motors; Michael Duggan, Mayor of Detroit; Dan Gilbert, Chairman and CEO, Quicken Loans and Companies; and Virginia Rometty, CEO, IBM.
