  • All students must sign in when entering the machine shop or the IPL and sign out when leaving.
  • Students must record all material usage with the shop supervisor.
  • Loose fitting clothing that does not protect the body from hot metal chips or falling tools are not permitted. This includes neckties, shorts, tom pants, open toed shoes, etc.
  • Only ONE person is to operate a machine at one time. Never leave a machine while it is operating.
  • Report all breakage to the shop supervisor so repairs and replacements can be made.
  • Reckless behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Before leaving the shop or IPL, students must thoroughly clean and wipe down all machines used and return all tools to their proper locations. The floors around the machine are to be completely swept. No tools are to be left out.
