Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Program Overview

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a high quality course of study that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET .

It integrates a strong science base with an excellent design core. Our students develop their skills in communication, both written and oral, through an integrated communications program.
( Photo Above) Students in ME456: Mechatronics Systems Design set a new class record for BoEbots performing "Follow the Leader." The class had 23 autonomous robots each following the robot in front using infrared sensors and feedback control.

In addition, our department has a very exciting international program, with options for study around the globe in England, Germany, and Russia.

The program also brings in a diverse group of international students to study with us. Included in the variety of activities open to students is the cooperative education program in which a student may participate after his/her freshman year.
