Mahdi Jadaliha, a graduate student of Jongeun Choi has been declared a finalist in the 2012 Dynamic System and Control Conference’s Best Student Paper Award,. His paper, "Efficient Spatial Prediction Using Gaussian Markov Random Fields Under Uncertain Localization," will appear in the Proceedings of ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Conference (DSCC), October 17-19, Miama, Florida. His paper is one of 5 finalists for the award. Excellent nominations for the best student paper award were received for the conference. This was a very tough competition between excellent nominees, and it is truly a sign of excellence that his paper has succeeded in becoming a finalist. All finalists for this award will be recognized at DSCC. The winner will be selected based on oral presentations of the nominated papers to the above panel of judges, and will receive special recognition at DSCC.
The best student paper competition is one of three significant ways in which the DSCC conference supports its student participants. Travel grants are also made available to student presenters at DSCC 2012, a special student-centric session at DSCC 2012 will be provided.
