William G. Carlson BSME '47 presented the Department of Mechanical Engineering with a collection of books that he used in his studies at Michigan State University in the College of Engineering during the 1940's. Along with the books were historical memorabilia including letters from then President Hannah and then College of Engineering Dean H.B.Dirks. The importance of maintaining personal collections and using them throughout one's life was stressed with this donation. It is hoped that students seeing the Carlson display will see a historical perspective with their studies.
