Tonghun Lee, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, received the 2009 Withrow Teaching Excellence Award.  Dr. Lee has the unique ability to foster learning in his students by creating an environment where the material becomes understandable and easy for them to learn, qualities that are critical in the classroom.  This ability engenders both respect and admiration from his students.  Dr. Lee’s students find his contact with them exemplifies the qualities of “a great and fair teacher”.  His students understand the importance of good teachers and describe him as “a practical man who is inspiring to listen to, gets the point across, and is incredibly smart”.
