Craig Gunn awarded Distinguished Academic Specialist

ME Communications Program Director Craig J. Gunn, has received the Michigan State University Distinguished Academic Specialist Award.   Mr. Gunn understands the challenges facing new students, and fosters engineering students improvement of their oral and written communication skills.  Beyond the classroom, he has influenced his field through work on university-wide committees and workshops, and through his work with the Cooperative Education Division (CED) of the American Society for Engineering Education.  He is widely known and respected in the organization through his presentations at annual meetings, his service on the CED's board of directors, and his work as editor of the newsletter.

Mr. Gunn has published essays in numerous journals and textbooks.  The  course he created, "Technical Communication for Engineers," rounds out a communications-expertise, service-centered career, and is admired across campus and throughout the engineering communications field.  For his commitment to students and their professional development as well as his own accomplishments in service to professional organizations and engineering research, Michigan State University recognizes Craig J. Gunn's extensive contributions to the university and is proud to honor him with this award.
