PhD student awarded Zonta Fellowship
Anoosheh Niavarani, currently pursuing her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, has been selected as the recipient of the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship. Zonta International is a universal organization of executives and professionals working to advance the status of women through service and advocacy. The organization was established in 1919 and now consists of over 33,000 members in more than 1240 clubs in 67 different countries and geographic areas. The fellowships are awarded annually to women pursuing a Ph.D. in aerospace-related sciences and engineering who demonstrate superior academic record in their field. Niavarani's doctoral research focuses on numerical simulations of the fluid flow in micro-fluidic devices for aerospace applications.
