Former Michigan State University Department of Mechanical Engineering faculty member John McGrath will be joining the National Science Foundation in September.  Dr. McGrath, who for the last several years has been Department Head of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona, will be on loan to NSF for three to four years and will serve as the Division Director of CBET (Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental and Transport Systems).  The strategic foci for this division include engineering, water and sustainability, multi-scale modeling, nano-scale science and engineering, and integration of life science with engineering.  Dr. McGrath has expressed his excitement at this opportunity for him to grow professionally and to contribute at the national and international level.
